Hojai, June 13: A troubling case of alleged kidnapping involving a minor has raised alarms in Hojai district, prompting a rapid response from local law enforcement to locate the victim and apprehend the suspect.
The situation unfolded when the family of a 16-year-old girl from Barpukhuri, located about five kilometers from Hojai town, reported to the police that their daughter had been enticed away by a young man.
The girl, who is currently in Class X, had been missing since the previous Sunday, leading her family to urgently seek police assistance.
In response to the complaint, police initiated a search operation and began investigating the circumstances of her disappearance.
Thanks to their diligent efforts, the Hojai Police managed to rescue the minor and apprehend the suspect, identified as Manoj Harijan, who resides in the Kumarakata area.

On Thursday, Manoj Harijan was presented before the Judicial Magistrate's court in Sankardev Nagar, Hojai, where the case is now under judicial review.
