A Shocking Tale of Revenge

Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a son avenged his mother's humiliation by killing his father, a revenge that has left many astonished. Let’s delve into the details of this disturbing case.

Son's Revenge: Shocking Murder of Father in Lucknow

Background of the Incident: The story traces back to 2015 in Kalyanpur, Lucknow, when 11-year-old Sonu Kashyap witnessed his father, Manoj Kumar, publicly slap his mother, leading to her severe mental and physical distress. This traumatic event left a lasting impact on Sonu, who could never forget the humiliation faced by his mother.

Growing Anger: As Sonu grew older, so did his resentment. He eventually secured a job as a delivery boy but remained haunted by the memory of his mother’s disgrace. Recently, he spotted his father selling coconut water at Munshipulia Crossing, reigniting his desire for revenge. He confided in his friends, stating, 'He slapped my mother. I won’t let him live.'

Planning the Attack: On May 22, Sonu and his friends devised a plan to confront Manoj. They knew his daily route home and lay in wait for him. When Manoj passed by, Sonu struck him first with a metal rod, and his friends joined in, beating him until he collapsed, unconscious. The attackers fled, believing Manoj was dead.

Police Investigation: The case posed a challenge for law enforcement, with no leads for nearly two months. However, a breakthrough came when a distinctive orange T-shirt featuring a cartoon character from The Simpsons was discovered in CCTV footage from the crime scene. A young man recently posted a photo of himself wearing the same shirt on social media. A special police team monitoring social media tracked him down, leading to Sonu and his accomplices' arrest on July 20. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Shashank Singh confirmed that this was a premeditated murder rooted in a decade-old grudge.
