Digboi, Oct 28: Authorities have initiated a search operation for two sisters, aged 27 and 14, who vanished after leaving their residence in the No. 2 Borbil locality of Digboi, located in Assam’s Tinsukia district, on October 26 to purchase groceries.

The sisters, Soita Das, 27, and Eshika Das, 14, are the daughters of Tarun Das and Archana Das. They departed from home around 11 am on Monday and have not returned, causing significant concern for their family.

According to their father, he attempted to reach them multiple times, with their phones ringing until approximately 2 pm before they became unreachable.

“I have been calling them throughout the night but have been unable to connect. I call their phones every 10 minutes,” Tarun shared.

The family has filed a report at the Digboi Police Station. Officers have visited their home to gather information regarding the missing sisters, he added.

In the complaint submitted on October 26, Tarun mentioned that his daughters had been missing since around 10:30 am that day. The report also included descriptions of the clothing they wore when they left.

Soita was last seen in blue trousers and a gold high-neck top, while Eshika was dressed in black trousers and a black top.

Tarun noted that there had been no significant disagreements at home prior to their departure. He characterized their leaving as a normal occurrence, stating they seemed cheerful.

“There were no major arguments. They left smiling and appeared happy,” he remarked.

As the search progresses, the family is urging the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the sisters.

“All I want is for them to come back home, wherever they may be,” Tarun expressed, making a heartfelt plea for the safe return of his daughters.

Anyone who may have seen Soita or Eshika or has any information regarding their whereabouts is encouraged to reach out to the family or the Digboi Police.
