Authorities in Nurpur have made a significant advancement in a motorcycle theft investigation, apprehending two suspects and recovering the stolen bike.

The incident was reported on March 2, 2026, at the Noorpur Police Station following a complaint lodged by Rajneesh Kumar from the village of Kamanala, located in Tehsil Noorpur, District Kangra. During the investigation, law enforcement uncovered connections between this case (FIR No. 72/26) and a previous theft incident (FIR No. 66/26, dated February 25, 2026).

One of the suspects, Abhishek Kumar, son of Tarvij Singh from village Tipri in District Chamba, was already in judicial custody for the earlier case and was found to be involved in the theft reported on March 2. His accomplice, Anil Kaundal, son of Amrik Singh from Jasur in Tehsil Noorpur, was interrogated thoroughly. Based on gathered evidence and technical analysis, police confirmed his involvement in the crime. The stolen motorcycle was retrieved from him, leading to his formal arrest under FIR No. 72/26.

Authorities indicated that both individuals are part of a larger organized group engaged in vehicle thefts throughout Noorpur and neighboring regions, including areas bordering Chamba district. Ongoing investigations are in progress, with plans to take Abhishek Kumar into police custody from judicial remand for further questioning.

The Noorpur police have urged the community to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious activities to assist in effectively reducing crime.
