Hyderabad, July 21: A notorious criminal was brutally murdered in the Meerpet locality of Hyderabad on Monday night, as reported by local authorities on Tuesday.

Nandanavanam Suri, known for his involvement in multiple criminal cases, including homicides, was attacked near TKR College while attending a birthday celebration for his second wife's brother.

The assailant used pepper spray to blind Suri before repeatedly stabbing him with a knife.

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital by bystanders, Suri was pronounced dead upon arrival.

He had previously been implicated in the murder of his first wife and his brother-in-law, Salman. Authorities suspect that Afroz, Salman’s brother, may have been responsible for the attack.

Police believe this murder stems from a longstanding family dispute, with Afroz allegedly seeking revenge for his brother's death.

It is suspected that Afroz had meticulously planned the attack, waiting for the right moment to strike during the birthday gathering.

Suri had a significant criminal record, with cases registered across Warangal, Hyderabad, and Malkajgiri police jurisdictions.

Due to his criminal history, Hyderabad police had previously issued a city externment order against him.

The Meerpet police have initiated an investigation into the incident, looking into the motives behind Suri's murder.

In a separate incident, a human skeleton was discovered in the Bowenpalli area of Secunderabad on Tuesday.

Local residents found the remains, including a skull and bones, hidden in bushes near a dairy farm and promptly notified the police. The skeletal remains have been sent to Gandhi Hospital for DNA analysis.

Authorities believe the individual may have died approximately five years ago and have opened an investigation into the case.

In another alarming event in Khammam district, a 35-year-old woman was stabbed by her husband while she was filing a complaint against him at a police station.

Police quickly intervened, apprehending the suspect and confiscating the knife used in the attack. This incident took place at the Enkoor police station on Monday.
