Imphal, Oct 9: A head constable from the Rapid Action Force (RAF) sustained injuries when unidentified individuals launched a grenade at the entrance of the B/107 RAF unit located in New Lambulane, under the jurisdiction of Porompat Police Station, around 10 PM on Thursday.


The injured officer has been named as Dhananjay Rai, who hails from Uttar Pradesh. He reportedly suffered minor injuries and was promptly taken to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) for initial medical attention.


After receiving preliminary treatment at JNIMS, Rai was transferred to Sheja Hospital for further care. Updates on his current health status have not been disclosed yet.
