New Delhi, June 24: The Delhi Police successfully cracked a murder case just hours after it occurred, apprehending three juveniles believed to be responsible for the death of a 22-year-old man in Tilak Nagar. Authorities reported that the swift resolution was made possible through effective investigation techniques, including the analysis of CCTV footage and local intelligence.
On June 22, a call was made to the Tilak Nagar Police Station, logged under Daily Diary Number 10A, reporting a stabbing incident. The caller informed the police that her brother had been stabbed in the thigh and back and was in critical condition at DDU Hospital due to severe blood loss. Sub Inspector Mohit Kumar was assigned to handle the situation.
Upon arrival, the police discovered blood at the crime scene. The victim, identified as Paras, had suffered three stab wounds—two on his left thigh and one on his back. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.
In response to the incident, an FIR No. 244/2026 was filed at Tilak Nagar Police Station under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A specialized team led by Inspector Binnet Kumar Pandey and Sub Inspector Mohit Kumar was formed to investigate the case under the guidance of senior district officers.
During the investigation, police took a statement from the victim's sister, who lived in Tilak Nagar. She recounted finding her brother injured and unconscious near their home, without any knowledge of the attackers.
The investigative team promptly reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity and gathered local intelligence. Through careful analysis and persistent fieldwork, they located and arrested three juveniles, referred to as 'V', 'R', and 'P', in a local park near B-Block, Chowkhandi, Tilak Nagar.
During questioning, the juveniles revealed that approximately 40 to 45 days prior, the deceased had borrowed Rs 150 from one of them and had not returned it. On the night of June 21-22, they confronted Paras about the money. Following a dispute, Paras attempted to flee.
However, around 12:15 a.m., the juveniles found him again, restrained him, and attacked him. During this assault, juvenile 'V' reportedly stabbed Paras multiple times with a knife, leading to his fatal injuries.
All three juveniles were presented before the Juvenile Justice Board and placed in protective custody. The investigation is ongoing.
