The Horrific Incident Unfolds

A Shocking Tale of Family Tragedy in Uttar Pradesh

On April 25, 2009, at 6 AM, in the village of Gaura, located in the Mohanlalganj tehsil of Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh, a tragic event began to unfold. In a modest mud house, a woman named Santoshi was busy chopping vegetables while her three children—six-year-old Ramroop, four-year-old Sumiran, and one-and-a-half-year-old Ravi—were asleep on a cot. Her husband, Sarwan, was seated in the courtyard. Frustrated, Santoshi urged him to fetch salt from the shop, but he dismissed her concerns, leading to a heated exchange. Sarwan, irritated by her nagging, left the house after buttoning his shirt.

Approximately ten minutes later, a man and a woman barged into Santoshi's home. The woman brandished an axe and shouted threats, declaring that they would eliminate everyone in the house. The man, urged on by her, picked up the axe and began to attack. Santoshi stood her ground, defiantly challenging him. The commotion woke the children, and as Ramroop emerged, he pleaded for his mother's safety. The assailant kicked him aside and struck Santoshi with the axe, causing severe injuries that left her lifeless on the ground, blood pooling around her.

A Gruesome Family Massacre

As Ramroop attempted to flee, the attacker caught him and struck him on the head with the axe, killing him instantly. Sumiran, hearing the chaos, rushed in only to meet a similar fate. The woman then insisted they finish off Santoshi, who was still alive, and the attacker brutally decapitated her. The horror continued as they entered the room where little Ravi was, and he too was killed without mercy.

Neighbors React

Nearby, the Kolai family was preparing a meal when they heard the screams. Madhuri, the wife, went to investigate and was met with the sight of blood and the assailant. She tried to flee but was attacked, suffering fatal injuries. Her children, hearing their mother's cries, rushed to help but were met with violence as well. The village soon became a scene of chaos as the news spread.

Police Investigation Begins

Sangita, one of the survivors, managed to reach the police station and reported the massacre. Officers rushed to the scene, discovering the horrific aftermath. The investigation pointed towards Sarwan as the primary suspect, with allegations of an affair involving his sister-in-law, Suman, complicating matters. Suman denied the claims, leading to further confusion about the motive behind the killings.

Unraveling the Mystery

As the investigation progressed, the police faced a complex web of relationships and motives. Was it jealousy, an affair, or a land dispute that led to this tragedy? After nearly nine years, the case was finally resolved, with Sarwan sentenced to death and Suman receiving a four-year prison term for her involvement.
