On Thursday, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar shared his heartfelt wishes for Gudi Padwa and the Marathi New Year. In a message posted on X, he expressed, "To you and your family, heartfelt greetings on Gudi Padwa and Marathi New Year... May this new year bring joy, happiness, and prosperity -- this is my prayer." Across India, people are joyfully celebrating Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Navratri, Ugadi, Sajibu Cheiraoba, Chetti Chand, and Navreh.

Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of the T20I team, also took to X to share his greetings for Gudi Padwa, stating, "Let's welcome new beginnings with new dreams. Heartfelt wishes to all on Gudi Padwa!"
Jay Shah, the Chairman of the International Cricket Council, conveyed his festive greetings as well, emphasizing the cultural importance of Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Navratri, and Ugadi. Former cricketer VVS Laxman also shared his warm wishes for the various regional New Year celebrations, highlighting India's cultural richness. On X, he remarked, "One New Year. Many traditions. Devotees Gather for Chaitra Navratri
In addition, devotees flocked to major temples such as Jhandewalan and Chhatarpur in Delhi, as well as Mumba Devi in Mumbai, to pray on the first day of Chaitra Navratri. The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of bells and hymns, marking the start of the nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga.
