Current COVID-19 Situation in India

On Sunday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in India exceeded 6,000, reaching a total of 6,133. In the last 24 hours, the country reported 378 new infections. Additionally, there were six fatalities, with two occurring in Karnataka, three in Kerala, and one in Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, two men aged 46 and 78, both suffering from various health issues, died during treatment after testing positive for COVID-19.

In Kerala, three men aged 51, 64, and 92 succumbed to their illnesses while receiving treatment, while a 42-year-old man in Tamil Nadu died due to uncontrolled diabetes and acute kidney disease. Kerala recorded 144 new cases, followed by Gujarat and West Bengal with 105 and 71 cases, respectively. Since January 1, 2025, the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the country has reached 65. Furthermore, 753 individuals recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
