Details of the Crime

The accused allegedly threatened the victim, warning her not to disclose the incident to anyone, or he would kill her, before fleeing the scene. At the time of the incident, the girl's mother was visiting Baba Semrad Nath Dham for a religious observance and only learned of the event upon returning home in the evening.


Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Initially, the family considered the matter a domestic issue and did not report it to the police on Monday. However, after the girl's health deteriorated, her mother filed a complaint with the police on Tuesday. Based on this complaint, authorities registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The victim has since been admitted to a hospital for treatment. The police arrested the suspect late Tuesday night in the Sitamarhi area while he was reportedly visiting a relative. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
