Court Sets Date for Hearing on Uttar Pradesh Government's Withdrawal in Akhlaq Murder Case
Hearing Scheduled for December 23
A fast-track court located in Surajpur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, has scheduled a hearing for December 23 regarding the Uttar Pradesh government's request to withdraw charges against the accused in the murder case of Mohammad Akhlaq in Dadri.
This information was provided by a lawyer involved in the case. The state government has sought permission from the court to drop the case against all accused individuals involved in the mob killing of Akhlaq, which occurred in 2015 in the Bisahda village of the Jarcha police station area in Greater Noida.
The matter was presented on Thursday before the Additional District and Sessions Judge, where the petition for withdrawal was discussed. Yusuf Saifi, the lawyer representing Akhlaq's family, stated that the court has instructed both parties to present their arguments on December 23.
