Severe Punishment for Child Rape Case

A Meerut court has sentenced a man to ten years of rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a five-year-old girl in 2017, along with a fine of ₹10,000, as reported by local police.

According to police, this outcome was achieved due to the diligent efforts of the monitoring cell and the Saradhna police station.

The accused, identified as Asu, son of Munna, a resident of Pandushila Road in the Saradhna area of Meerut, was found guilty by Shivani Singh, the special judge for POCSO cases.

The case dates back to November 27, 2017, when the victim's mother filed a complaint at the Saradhna police station, alleging that the accused had sexually assaulted her daughter. The police conducted a thorough investigation, gathering sufficient evidence to file charges in court.

Police officials stated that under the guidance of the Senior Superintendent of Police in Meerut, the monitoring cell regularly reviewed the case, which strengthened the prosecution's case and ultimately led to the conviction of the accused.
