Court Denies Bail to Model in Shiva Sharma Death Case
Court Ruling on Bail Applications
In Lucknow, the case surrounding the death of businessman Shiva Sharma has taken a significant turn as the court has rejected the bail applications of model Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi, and driver Danish. The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Alok Verma stated that the nature of the case is serious, warranting examination in a sessions court, thus providing no grounds for bail.
Details of the Arrest
Earlier, Shraddha's lawyer had submitted a bail plea to the CJM court, which was subsequently dismissed. On Thursday, the Hazratganj police presented Shraddha, Rashmi, and Danish in court, where they were remanded to 10 days of judicial custody. The trio was arrested on Tuesday afternoon from a flat in Nagpur's Betlarodi area. Following their arrest, the police transported them back to Lucknow, arriving at the Hazratganj police station around 9:15 AM.
Intensive Interrogation and Medical Examination
After their presentation in court, the three were held at the surveillance office of Deputy Commissioner of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya, where they underwent approximately six and a half hours of questioning. Once the interrogation concluded, they were subjected to a medical examination at a civil hospital under tight security before being sent to judicial custody.
Search Procedures Before Jail Admission
Following the court's order, Shraddha, Rashmi, and driver Tanveer Ali, also known as Danish, were admitted to the district jail around 8:30 PM on Thursday. Jail staff recorded their names in the gate register before conducting a thorough search at the second entrance, despite Shraddha's objections. Female jail officers conducted the search for Shraddha and her sister, after which medical personnel documented their health status and personal details.
Background of Shiva Sharma's Death
The incident is linked to the Awadh Green Apartments located in Baloo Adda, Lucknow, where Shiva Sharma, a chicken trader and café owner, fell from the fourth floor under suspicious circumstances on the night of October 9. Shiva, who resided in the Kapoorthala area of Aliganj, was reportedly in a live-in relationship with Shraddha for about a year. Following his death, his family lodged serious allegations against Shraddha, claiming she had implicated him in false cases and threatened him through influential individuals.
Legal Proceedings Ahead
Shiva's mother, Ranjana, filed a murder complaint against Shraddha, her sister Rashmi, and two others at the Hazratganj police station. After the incident, Shraddha and the other accused allegedly went into hiding, prompting police to initiate a search that led to their arrest in Nagpur. With the court denying bail, the three will remain in judicial custody as the investigation continues. The circumstances surrounding Shiva Sharma's death and the roles of those involved will be clarified through ongoing legal proceedings.
