Murder and Theft Incident in Uttarahalli
A couple has been apprehended in connection with the murder of their landlady and the theft of her gold mangalsutra. This incident occurred in the Uttarahalli area, where the victim, Shrilakshmi, was discovered dead at her residence on New Millennium School Road on Tuesday. She was found lying in the hall with visible injuries on her neck, lips, and face.
Additionally, her gold mangalsutra was reported missing. According to reports, her husband was the first to find her body; he works at an incense shop in Cottonpet. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach her by phone, he returned home in the evening to this horrifying scene.
Couple Confesses During Interrogation
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police initiated an investigation and quickly arrested the tenants, Prasad Shreeshail Makai and his wife Sakshi Hanumant Hoddur. During questioning, the couple admitted to the murder and the theft of the jewelry. The investigation into the case is ongoing. In a separate incident, Bengaluru police arrested 32-year-old Vasudev R, who is accused of defrauding individuals on Instagram by promising immediate solutions to personal problems, amounting to over 2.4 million rupees.
Vasudev, a resident of Yeshwantpur in Bengaluru, was living in Srinivasa Nagar, Sunakadakatte. Following his arrest, police seized four mobile phones and 20,300 rupees in cash from him, with a total value of approximately 160,300 rupees. The accused has been presented in court and is now in judicial custody. These incidents have raised concerns about safety and fraud in Bengaluru, as the police continue their thorough investigation.
