Counter-Intelligence Operations Intensify in Kashmir During Amit Shah's Visit

Coordinated Raids Across Kashmir Valley
In conjunction with Home Minister Amit Shah's visit, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has launched a series of synchronized raids throughout the Kashmir Valley. This ongoing operation covers several districts, including Budgam, Awantipora, Pulwama, Kupwara, Shopian, and Srinagar, as part of an investigation into a terror-related case managed by the CIK.
Targeting Encrypted Communication Channels
Authorities have pinpointed multiple individuals believed to be using a particular encrypted messaging application associated with terrorist communications. These platforms are reportedly preferred by terrorists and their operatives based outside the country. Concerns have been raised that these suspects might be in contact with dubious entities abroad, which could pose a significant security threat to the Kashmir Valley. The CIK's proactive approach aims to disrupt these networks and curb the escalation of terrorist activities.
Additional Raids by the State Investigation Agency
Alongside these efforts, the Jammu and Kashmir Police's State Investigation Agency (SIA) executed raids at 18 locations on May 23 across four districts in the Jammu region. These operations are part of a comprehensive strategy to dismantle the terror ecosystem and eliminate sleeper cells. A considerable amount of incriminating material was seized during these raids, highlighting the serious nature of the threat posed by these networks. The SIA conducted these operations in a coordinated manner, working closely with local police and magistrates.
Amit Shah's Security Review and Community Engagement
During his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah held a security review meeting in preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and received updates on the ongoing anti-terror operations in the region. He visited the border district of Poonch, where he interacted with soldiers who played a crucial role in the success of Operation Sindoor. Additionally, Shah met with residents affected by cross-border shelling in Poonch, assuring them of government support.
