Growing Controversy Over NEET-UG Exam Paper Leak

The controversy regarding the NEET-UG exam paper leak is escalating daily. On Thursday, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha criticized the government's response to alleged irregularities in the entrance examination system, referencing the tragic death of medical student Akanksha. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a post on his social media account X.

Following the incident involving a NEET candidate's death, he heavily criticized the BJP government and the Prime Minister, stating that the education system has been devastated over the past 12 years, costing an entire generation of youth. Rahul wrote on X that Akanksha aspired to serve the nation and society as a doctor. Her father, a farmer, took a loan of ₹3 lakh on a farmer credit card to support her dream of becoming a doctor and even took a job as a cook in Nagpur to afford her coaching.

He further expressed that the father did everything possible for his daughter. However, after the NEET paper leak, the exam was canceled, and in that uncertainty, Akanksha left us. Her death is not a suicide; it is a consequence of a corrupt and broken system created by Modi. And what about Dharmendra Pradhan? He remains in his position. The same committee, the same transfers, the same investigations—no reforms, no justice. Modi, the chair is not permanent; it comes and goes. But the extent to which you have ruined the education system over 12 years is being paid for by an entire generation of youth in India.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh also targeted the central and Uttar Pradesh governments regarding the NEET and other competitive exam paper leak issues, alleging that there is corruption worth thousands of crores in the 'paper leak business.' Speaking to party workers and supporters on Wednesday, he stated that young students in the country are being driven to suicide, yet discussing serious issues like paper leaks has become a taboo. He accused the paper leak business of involving corruption worth thousands of crores, which hardworking students are forced to bear the cost of.
