Controversy Surrounds Marriage of Viral Girl Monalisa and Farmaan
Legal Troubles for Farmaan
In Khargone, Monalisa, popularly known as the 'viral girl', has been identified as a minor in an investigation by the National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Commission. Farmaan, a resident of Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, married her when she was under 18 years old in Kerala. Following this revelation, a case has been filed against Farmaan in Madhya Pradesh. His family claims that he has brought shame upon them.
Farmaan's family has distanced themselves from him. He married Monalisa on March 11, which Hindu organizations labeled as 'love jihad'. Currently, Farmaan is employed in Mumbai. His family learned about the legal case against him through media reports.
Farmaan's relatives are trying to distance themselves from the situation, stating that he married outside his religion, which has caused significant discord within the family. Since the day they found out about the marriage, they have cut off all ties with him.
Farmaan's father, Jafar, expressed that his son's actions have tarnished their family's reputation in the community. He stated that if Farmaan wanted to marry, he should have done so within their own community. Jafar mentioned that Farmaan had visited the village six months ago. Meanwhile, Farmaan's cousin, Samad, revealed that the family is unaware of what is happening with him, as they are receiving updates about the case through social media. There has been no communication between Farmaan and his family, which includes his mother Khatun, father Jafar, brothers Firoz, Qurban, Rizwan, and four sisters.
