Political Fallout from Ayodhya Temple Incident

The recent incident involving the alleged theft of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple has escalated into a significant controversy, particularly for MP Pappu Yadav. Following a dramatic protest staged in the Parliament premises, legal action has been initiated against him, and numerous saints and followers of Sanatan Dharma have taken to the streets in protest against his actions. Alongside Yadav, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi is also facing backlash for his involvement in the incident, as he reportedly supported Yadav's actions.

On Saturday, a case was filed in Varanasi against Pappu Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad for allegedly insulting Sanatan Dharma. A complaint has also been lodged at the Parliament Street police station in Delhi. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Gaurav Bansal in Varanasi, the case was registered based on a complaint from the saints regarding the alleged disrespect towards their faith.

It is important to note that opposition MPs had staged a symbolic play in the Parliament to criticize the central government over the alleged donation theft linked to the Ayodhya temple. During this protest, Pappu Yadav donned saffron robes and acted as a priest, while Rahul Gandhi was seen making a donation. Subsequently, Yadav pretended to flee with a donation box, only to be stopped by other MPs, who chanted slogans like 'Donation Thief, Resign!' during the demonstration.

Reactions from Religious Leaders

The actions of Pappu Yadav have drawn sharp criticism from various religious leaders. Yoga guru Swami Ramdev stated that disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma will not be tolerated. Additionally, Swami Jitendranand Saraswati, the national general secretary of the All India Saints Committee, expressed concerns about conspiracies against Hinduism, deeming them unacceptable. Meanwhile, Swami Deepankar emphasized that the Hindu community will not tolerate any insult towards Lord Ram.
