Controversial Wedding Disrupted by Rumors in Hamirpur
Hamirpur Wedding Incident
Hamirpur News: In a surprising turn of events in Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, a groom's dreams of riding a horse to his wedding were dashed when a rumor about a 'third marriage' spread among the guests. This rumor reached the bride's family, causing an uproar that led them to halt the wedding ceremonies and send the groom's party back without the bride. Notably, the couple had already been officially married under the Chief Minister's mass wedding scheme prior to this incident.
The Incident Unfolds
The incident took place in the Pothia village of the Lalapura police station area. Santosh Prajapati, a resident of this village, had arranged for his daughter to marry Arvind, the son of Dayaram Prajapati from the town of Maudaha. Their wedding was conducted on March 18 during a government-organized mass wedding ceremony. However, the bride's father wished for a traditional wedding celebration in their village, prompting the groom, Arvind, to arrive with a festive procession.
Rumor Causes Chaos
As the wedding procession arrived and settled in the village, guests were enjoying snacks and tea. Meanwhile, the bride and groom were exchanging garlands and taking their vows. Suddenly, amidst laughter, a guest spread the rumor that this was Arvind's third marriage. This news spread rapidly, causing panic among the bride's family, who became furious and questioned the groom's character. The bride, caught in the middle of the vows, halted the ceremony.
Failed Mediation Attempts
The situation escalated to the point where both families confronted each other. Former minister Shiv Charan attempted to mediate, bringing both parties together for discussions. Despite his efforts to calm the bride's family, tensions remained high. The bride's relatives accused the groom's party of misconduct and demanded they leave. Ultimately, the groom and his relatives returned home humiliated and without the bride.
Groom's Father's Response
Dayaram, the groom's father, presented a different perspective on the incident. He accused the bride's family of making serious allegations, asserting that his son had only been married once before, with a legal divorce finalized. According to Dayaram, the bride's family was aware of this prior marriage, which was why the couple was married during the mass wedding ceremony. He claimed that upon their arrival, the bride's family unexpectedly demanded 100,000 rupees. When he expressed his inability to meet this demand, they falsely accused him of the 'third marriage.' Despite his pleas, the bride's family remained firm in their demands, leading to the wedding being called off. This incident has since become a hot topic in the area, highlighting how a mere rumor or greed can fracture family relationships.
