Controversial Video of Unnao Market Director Scolding Secretary Goes Viral
Viral Incident in Unnao
A video featuring Indra Vikram Singh, the Director of the Market Council in Unnao, has gained significant attention on social media. In the 1 minute and 40 seconds clip, Singh is seen reprimanding the secretary of the Unnao New Market, stating, "Your brain is like that of a monkey. You are incapable of performing your duties and are neither mentally nor physically fit, so take leave and rest at home. You are of no use to us."
Inspection Leads to Outburst
The incident occurred during Singh's visit to inspect the New Market on Thursday. He expressed his frustration over the disarray in the market and the locked toilets, harshly criticizing the secretary. Singh questioned whether the toilets were meant for use or to be kept locked, suggesting that for a monthly fee of 100 rupees, cleanliness and maintenance could be ensured. The secretary responded that traders were not cooperating, which further infuriated Singh, who labeled him as a failure and incapable.
‘Stay Home and Rest’
Singh then asked the staff present who could take over the responsibilities, telling the secretary to stay home and rest. He instructed the departmental officials to prepare a proposal, stating that he would not suspend the secretary but emphasized that due to his physical incapacity and negative attitude, a decision had to be made. Singh remarked that if mistakes were made, the secretary should rest at home, or else he would lock the toilets.
Secretary's Defense
Secretary Sudhir clarified that the toilets are opened daily and are maintained. He mentioned that a caretaker had been hired for upkeep, but a recent altercation between traders and the caretaker led to the latter leaving. Consequently, the toilets were locked due to the absence of a caretaker, which triggered Singh's anger. Additionally, he noted that he remains in his position as the market secretary. ADM Sushil Kumar confirmed that Singh had inspected the New Market three days prior and was upset by the disorder, but the secretary continues to hold his post.
