Viral Video Sparks Outrage
A video featuring BJP MLA and former Himachal Pradesh Minister Vipin Singh Parmar has gained significant attention on social media, leading to widespread backlash. The footage captures Parmar sternly addressing Nurpur SDM Gursimar Singh during a protest march in Kangra district.
The demonstration, which included a Tiranga Yatra led by Parmar and his supporters, was organized in response to a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
In the clip, SDM Gursimar Singh is seen with his head lowered as Parmar confronts him. When the officer approaches to receive a memorandum, Parmar warns, 'Don’t be in such a hurry. If you rush things, we will be forced to explore other options.'
Parmar further stated, 'Governments may change, but the survival of the nation is paramount for the bureaucracy to endure.'
After receiving media scrutiny, Parmar softened his remarks, explaining that the public's outrage over the Pahalgam incident had elicited a strong emotional response. He emphasized that there was no intention to offend the officer. In response, SDM Singh clarified that he accepted the memorandum only when it was handed to him and denied any rush in the process.
Vipin Singh Parmar, a four-time MLA from Sulah near Palampur, previously served as the Health Minister and was later appointed as the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
