In 2023, a family dispute in a village within the Bada police station area of Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, captured significant attention. The case involved a married woman, a mother of three, who found herself pregnant for the fourth time. Initially, this issue was confined to her family but quickly escalated to involve the local panchayat and eventually the police.

At the time, the woman's husband was working away from home. According to reports, during his absence, she was involved in a romantic relationship with another man from the village. They allegedly met several times, leading to the woman's pregnancy. Upon learning of her condition, her lover began to distance himself. It was reported that the woman insisted on living with him, but he refused to accept her.

When the husband discovered the situation, he firmly stated that the unborn child was not his. This revelation spread throughout the village, prompting a panchayat meeting where both parties were summoned. Attempts were made to mediate, but no resolution was reached, as the lover publicly declined to accept the woman.

Subsequently, the woman approached the police, filing a complaint stating that the child she was carrying belonged to her lover and that she wished to be with him. She requested that if he continued to deny her, a report should be filed against him.

The Bada police then called both parties for discussions. The station chief indicated that efforts were being made to mediate the situation, and the woman's husband was also summoned for dialogue. The police stated that further action would depend on the investigation's findings.
