Traffic Chaos Following Container Truck Collision

On Sunday morning, a container truck collided with another vehicle on the busy Ghodbunder Road in Thane, Maharashtra, resulting in injuries to the truck driver, as reported by municipal officials.


The incident occurred at 4:48 AM near the Rutu Enclave complex, causing traffic disruptions that lasted for over an hour.


According to Yasin Tadvi, head of the Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell, the truck was en route from Nhava Sheva in Navi Mumbai to Surat in Gujarat when it struck a stationary container at a construction site for the metro.


Following the crash, the driver of the truck became trapped inside the cabin.


Emergency services, including the fire department and disaster management personnel, quickly initiated a rescue operation, successfully extricating the driver within 20 to 25 minutes. He sustained minor injuries to both legs.


Tadvi noted that a doctor from the TMC ambulance present at the scene provided initial medical assistance before the driver was handed over to the Kasarvadavali police for further action.


The damaged container was subsequently removed from the road with the help of a crane. Traffic on Ghodbunder Road remained slow for approximately an hour and a half before normal flow resumed.
