Congress Rally in Bhubaneswar
During a rally in Bhubaneswar aimed at preserving the Constitution, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed strong criticism of the BJP, stating that while the party makes grand claims, its actual contributions to Odisha are non-existent. He accused the BJP of seeking publicity without delivering any real work, asserting that Congress has been instrumental in bringing significant public enterprises to the state. In contrast, he claimed that Prime Minister Modi has failed to contribute positively, instead selling off the earnings and resources provided by Congress.
Kharge further elaborated on the BJP's tactics, suggesting that they first select a Chief Minister and then facilitate the interests of corporate giants like Adani and Ambani. He emphasized the need for the people of Odisha to teach the BJP a lesson, expressing confidence in their strength to do so. He also alleged that the BJP's government in Maharashtra is a 'government of thieves', pointing out that 8.5 million voters were altered to bring the BJP to power. Similar claims were made regarding Bihar, where he stated that 20 million voter names are being removed. He questioned whether such a government truly represents democracy and called for the removal of traitors from the system.
Additionally, Kharge mentioned recent discussions about the BJP's intention to remove the terms 'secular' and 'socialist' from the Constitution. He challenged the BJP's commitment to upholding the Constitution, urging the youth to awaken and defend it, warning that the BJP is dividing society.
He also accused Modi and the BJP of spreading falsehoods, recalling a moment during the India-Pakistan conflict when former President Donald Trump claimed to have mediated peace, a statement that Modi did not contest. Kharge's remarks were made during the rally, where he emphasized the importance of constitutional values.
