Congress President Calls for Resignation of Modi and Shah Amid National Herald Controversy

In a recent press conference, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the BJP leadership, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. This call comes after a Delhi court dismissed the Enforcement Directorate's chargesheet in the National Herald case, which involves prominent Congress figures Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Kharge accused the BJP of using this case as a tool for political revenge against the Gandhi family and emphasized that the allegations are baseless. He welcomed the court's decision as a victory for truth and justice, asserting that the BJP's attempts to tarnish the reputation of the National Herald newspaper are unfounded.

Congress Criticizes BJP Leadership

On Wednesday morning, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a strong critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah should resign. This statement follows a Delhi court's decision on Tuesday to reject the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) chargesheet related to the National Herald case, which implicates senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Kharge emphasized that the National Herald case aims to harass the Gandhi family and is driven by political vendetta. He described the court's ruling as a slap in the face for Modi and Shah, urging them to resign and assure the public that they will not cause further distress. Kharge labeled the National Herald allegations as "false," claiming they are motivated by political revenge and malice.

Kharge pointed out that the newspaper was founded in 1938 by freedom fighters, and he accused the BJP government of attempting to tarnish its reputation by linking it to money laundering. He asserted that there is no truth to these allegations, yet the BJP continues to use them to target Congress leaders. He reiterated that the current government is misusing ED cases to politically target opposition leaders, but the recent court ruling has favored justice.

He concluded by stating that truth has prevailed, and they wholeheartedly welcome the court's decision. The Delhi court ruled on Tuesday that taking judicial cognizance of the ED's chargesheet in the National Herald case and summoning the Gandhi family was legally inappropriate.
