Congress MP's Strong Remarks Against Union Minister

On Wednesday, Congress MP Manickam Tagore expressed his disapproval of Union Minister Jitendra Singh. He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of attempting to divert attention from the government's accountability regarding the alleged brutality against students and the examination crisis, particularly in light of the accusations against Rahul Gandhi. Tagore emphasized to a news outlet that the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is non-negotiable.

Tagore stated that Singh's comments were merely a tactic to distract from Rahul Gandhi's statements. Opposition leaders, including the leader of the opposition, met with the Speaker to demand a discussion and the resignation of the education minister. The government was unprepared for this, prompting a march to the Prime Minister's residence. Tagore reiterated their demands to Singh: first, the resignation, followed by a discussion. He firmly believes that Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation is inevitable.

This statement followed Jitendra Singh's remarks made a day earlier after he met with Rahul Gandhi during a Congress protest on Lok Kalyan Marg. Singh accused Gandhi of backtracking on his statements, labeling such behavior as unfortunate and contrary to democratic principles. In a post on X, Singh noted that Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were protesting near Akbar Road. He mentioned that Gandhi was requested to end the protest as the location was inappropriate and causing significant inconvenience to the public.

Singh further added that Rahul Gandhi demanded that if the government was willing to discuss all issues related to NEET and the associated movements in Parliament, he would immediately end the protest. Singh reported that shortly thereafter, after obtaining permission from the top leadership of the government, Gandhi was assured that his request would be honored and that the government was prepared to discuss all matters related to NEET and the movements surrounding it in Parliament.
