Concerns Over Golden Temple Security

Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla has expressed his discontent towards Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, highlighting that it has been six days since threats to bomb the Golden Temple were made, yet the Chief Minister has not visited Amritsar.

Aujla emphasized that the safety of the Golden Temple is a shared responsibility between the central and state governments. On Wednesday, Harjinder Singh Dhami, the head of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), revealed that the committee has received five emails threatening to bomb the temple since July 14.

He further informed that on Friday, police apprehended a software engineer named Shubham Dubey from Faridabad, but concerns remain due to another threatening email received.

Aujla urged Chief Minister Mann to engage with the public and provide them with complete information regarding the situation. He questioned, “Why hasn’t he visited Amritsar yet?” Aujla noted that devotees are feeling anxious.
