Congress MP Calls for NEET-UG 2026 Exam Cancellation

On Thursday, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram condemned the NEET-UG 2026 exam paper leak, labeling it a significant failure of the central government and the National Testing Agency (NTA). Speaking to reporters, Chidambaram emphasized that despite serious flaws, no one has been held accountable. He stated that this incident reflects a broader pattern of the government; whenever there is a major failure, accountability is absent. This situation further justifies the demand for the cancellation of the NEET exam.

Confidence in Cabinet Expansion

Chidambaram expressed optimism that following the cabinet expansion by Chief Minister Vijay, Congress legislators would be included in the Tamil Nadu cabinet. He stated, "I am confident that after the cabinet expansion, Congress members will be part of the cabinet." During a press conference after attending a consultation meeting at the Congress district office in Pudukkottai, he remarked that the DMK would not be in a position to form a government after the election results, thus labeling the support for TVK as not a betrayal.

Respect for DMK and Political Landscape

He acknowledged the DMK's role in Tamil Nadu politics, recognizing it as a significant political force with a strong future. Chidambaram noted their history of collaboration, having worked together and won several elections. However, he pointed out that the public mandate in this election clearly favored the government led by Vijay. He also mentioned that Chief Minister Vijay could provide a stable government in Tamil Nadu without including any faction of the AIADMK.

Support and Stability

Chidambaram concluded by stating that when support is voluntarily offered, it should not be rejected. He reiterated that it is not necessary for Vijay to include any faction of the AIADMK in the government, as he already possesses sufficient support to establish a stable administration.
