Congress MP Responds to Allegations Against Pawan Khera

Congress Member of Parliament K.C. Venugopal has labeled the accusations against party leader Pawan Khera as witch-hunting, attributing this to the unfounded claims made repeatedly by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ahead of the elections. Speaking to reporters, Venugopal stated that Sarma has consistently made false allegations against Gaurav Gogoi and his spouse, spreading baseless narratives without ever presenting evidence. He emphasized that the current allegations against Khera are merely acts of vengeance, asserting that they will confront this situation head-on.

Telangana High Court Grants Bail to Pawan Khera

Earlier on Friday, the Telangana High Court granted Pawan Khera a week's anticipatory bail in a case filed by Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma. This case pertains to allegations involving passport and property disclosures. Ponnam Ashok Goud from the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee's legal cell confirmed that the High Court has provided Khera with a week to appear before the relevant court.

Allegations Against Riniki Bhuyan Sarma

Khera has accused Riniki Bhuyan Sarma of holding three passports from India, the UAE, and Egypt, owning luxurious properties in Dubai, and having a company in Wyoming, USA. The Sarma family has denied these allegations, labeling the documents as fabricated stories circulated by Pakistani social media groups. In response to the accusations, Chief Minister Sarma remarked that Khera should have consulted the Foreign Minister before making such claims, adding that despite his age, Kharge continues to make nonsensical statements.

Sarma's Claims on Police Actions

Sarma further asserted that the Assam police could locate individuals even from the depths of hell, expressing suspicion that Rahul Gandhi might have provided Khera with the documents. He warned against attempts to intimidate, reminding that Assam has fought against Islamic invasions 17 times. Sarma also claimed that after police searches, Khera fled to Hyderabad, stating that he learned through media reports that police had visited Khera's residence in Delhi, but he had already escaped to Hyderabad. He concluded by asserting that the law will take its course.
