Condemnation of Attacks on Iran's Leader

On Sunday, Congress MP Imran Masood expressed strong disapproval of the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel, which reportedly resulted in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Speaking to a news outlet, Masood referred to Khamenei as a courageous leader whose passing is felt globally. He remarked that the world has lost a brave figure, emphasizing that history will remember him as a leader who worked tirelessly for his nation despite facing numerous sanctions. The loss of such an individual is undoubtedly tragic. He criticized both Israel and the U.S. for lacking the courage to engage in direct combat, accusing them of resorting to technological means for assassination instead of fighting on the ground.

Escalating Tensions in the Region

This incident follows a series of missile strikes on Iran by the U.S. and Israel, which have heightened tensions in the Middle East. Reports of explosions have emerged from Tehran and other major cities, with Iranian state media claiming that these attacks led to Khamenei's death. In response, the country has declared a 40-day period of public mourning. Iranian media outlets reported that Khamenei's family members, including his daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, were also victims of the Israeli-American strikes. An Israeli newspaper noted that there is no official information regarding Khamenei's fate.

Celebrations Erupt in Iran

CNN has reported celebrations in several Iranian cities following the news of Khamenei's death. According to news reports, the streets were filled with cheers and chants, including slogans like 'Down with the Islamic Republic' and 'Long live the Shah.'

Fox News shared a video showing residents in the suburb of Basat in Karaj, Iran, celebrating Khamenei's demise. Former Israeli spokesperson Eylon A. Levy posted another video on social media, highlighting that Iranian women were dancing in the streets without head coverings in response to the news of Khamenei's death. He remarked that many Western leaders should feel ashamed of their cowardly reactions this morning, stating, 'We will all remember this.'
