In light of the controversy surrounding alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging for an investigation into the financial dealings of the 'Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust'. They expressed that millions of devotees, who have generously donated their hard-earned money with faith, feel cheated by this alleged theft.

In their letter, opposition leaders from both houses of Parliament stated that the Prime Minister is aware of the theft involving thousands of crores from the trust. They emphasized that the millions of devotees who contributed their earnings with devotion and trust now feel deceived due to this incident.

Concerns Over Trust Management

The Congress leaders pointed out that the Prime Minister had announced the establishment of the trust in Parliament following Supreme Court directives, yet all its members were appointed by his government. They highlighted that it is well-known that the trust members are affiliated with organizations like RSS and VHP, and even the disgraced former General Secretary was a close associate of the Prime Minister.

They deemed the Prime Minister's silence on this matter unacceptable and demanded accountability and restitution.

Urgent Call for Independent Investigation

The Congress leaders insisted that silence in the face of such a crime is intolerable. They urged the Prime Minister to order an immediate, independent, and thorough investigation into the trust's financial matters, including the management of all donations, whether in cash, gold, or silver. They also called for the investigation results and the trust's accounts to be made public, ensuring that every devotee is informed about how their contributions have been utilized.

They stressed that anyone found responsible should be held accountable, regardless of their position or influence. The credibility of both the government and the trust hinges on the transparency and promptness of their actions. The people of India are watching closely.
