Venugopal, met with students injured during the police's violent response to their protests. They expressed that the future of students is being crushed, and those who raise their voices are met with violence. Modi should apologize for this situation. The demands of the students are straightforward; the government must acknowledge the paper leak and Dharmendra Pradhan must step down.

Discussion on Student Issues in Parliament

This hospital visit followed Rahul Gandhi's remarks to reporters in the Parliament complex, where he highlighted that the issue directly impacts the future of students and youth. He condemned the violence against protesters, stating it contradicts Indian values. Gandhi noted that Modi has not even offered an apology for the events that transpired. He also mentioned that he, along with other opposition MPs, approached Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to request a discussion on this matter, but were informed that the Speaker needed the government's consent first. He questioned the implications of this requirement, stating that the Speaker indicated they needed permission from the government to hold a debate in Parliament.

Widespread Criticism of Government's Handling of Protests

The Congress party's criticism is part of a broader opposition outcry against the government's handling of protests. Leaders such as Pawan Khera, Shashi Tharoor, Sanjay Raut, Bhupesh Baghel, and Arvind Kejriwal have also voiced their opposition to the police's actions over the past two days. Meanwhile, the Delhi police reported that over 118 officers were injured during the protests, with several demonstrators also sustaining injuries. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal separately visited RML Hospital on Tuesday to meet with those injured.
