Digvijaya Singh's Stance on Uniform Civil Code

Senior Congress figure Digvijaya Singh expressed on Thursday that the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) should foster societal unity rather than division. Speaking to reporters, Singh addressed various topics including the controversy surrounding the animal husbandry department, his planned foot march, the ongoing debate over donations for the Ram Temple, and the current SIT investigation. He emphasized that the Congress party's position on the UCC is clear, reminding the government that it was established as part of the Constitution during Congress's time in power. Therefore, the UCC should be utilized in a manner that promotes unity and avoids sowing discord.

Controversy in Animal Husbandry Department

Regarding the issues within the animal husbandry department, Singh accused the removal of former minister Lakhan Patel as evidence of corruption. He stated that this action confirms the existence of corrupt practices. On his upcoming foot march and the donation controversy related to the Ram Temple, Singh supported the comments made by Congress in-charge Harish Chaudhary, urging those opposing the alleged misappropriation of funds to join the movement.

Call for Participation Against Fund Misappropriation

Singh reiterated that Chaudhary's remarks about his foot march were accurate and that there was nothing wrong with them. He encouraged individuals from all societal segments who oppose the theft of donations to actively participate in the movement. Regarding the Ram Temple issue, he mentioned that he has already expressed everything he wanted to say.

SIT Investigation on Champat Rai

On the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) concerning Champat Rai, Singh stated that the agency should record statements from all individuals who have publicly made accusations. He added that in the case of Champat Rai, it is essential for the SIT to gather testimonies from those who have openly spoken against him.
