Concerns Over Children's Future in Education

On Saturday, Congress legislator Vijay Namdevrao Wadtetwar expressed serious concerns regarding the future of children under the current leadership, specifically targeting Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He called for Pradhan's removal from the position of Union Minister for Education, stating that his presence in power jeopardizes children's prospects.

Wadtetwar addressed reporters, asserting that Pradhan is unfit for his role. He emphasized that if the government had any sense of accountability, it should rectify the ongoing issues in the education sector. He further stated that no hope can be placed in leaders like Pradhan, as long as they remain in power.

Political Tensions Amid Education Policy Issues

These remarks come amidst a political tug-of-war between the opposition and the central government regarding education policies and examination systems. In a related incident, a NEET candidate from Nagpur faced a troubling situation when, despite selecting Nagpur as their preferred exam city, they were assigned an examination center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This unexpected allocation occurred just a day before the medical entrance exam scheduled for June 21, leaving the candidate and their family in a state of uncertainty.

Resolution of Examination Center Issue

Later, Abhishek Singh, the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), clarified on Saturday that the issue regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-examination center for the Nagpur student has been resolved. Speaking to a news agency, Singh confirmed that the error has been corrected, and the student has now been assigned an examination center in their hometown. He stated, "The matter has been resolved, and the candidate will take the exam in Nagpur." Additionally, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a post on social media platform X, highlighting the difficulties faced by the NEET candidate due to the initial allocation to Abu Dhabi.
