Congress Leader Criticizes PM Modi's Address and Calls for Women's Reservation
Congress Leader's Sharp Response to PM Modi
Supriya Shrinate, a prominent Congress leader, has expressed strong criticism regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent address to the nation. She pointed out that the Prime Minister mentioned the Congress party a staggering 58 times during his 29-minute speech, questioning what name he would invoke if Congress did not exist. This, she argues, reflects the Prime Minister's anxiety.
Political Maneuvering on Women's Reservation
Shrinate accused the government of using women's reservation as a 'political shield.' She claimed that the Modi administration aims to implement 'undemocratic delimitation' under the guise of women's reservation to sidestep the issue of caste census. She asserted that this plan has been fully exposed, contributing to the Prime Minister's evident nervousness. She urged the government to immediately allocate 181 out of 543 seats to women without any conditions.
Concerns Over BJP's Track Record
The Congress spokesperson raised serious concerns about the BJP government's record regarding women's representation. She highlighted that only 12.9% of BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha are women, with less than 10% of their legislators across the country being female. Citing incidents in Hathras and Manipur, she dismissed PM Modi's claims of 'women's respect' as weak. She warned that women in the country are observant and will hold the government accountable for their disrespect when the time comes.
Allegations of Misuse of Government Resources
Supriya Shrinate also accused the Prime Minister of misusing government resources. She stated that delivering such a speech while elections are underway in states like Tamil Nadu and West Bengal violates electoral norms. She concluded by saying that the Prime Minister has lost direct contact with the public, and those around him lack the courage to convey the truth.
