Congress President's Strong Remarks
On Monday, during a protest by the Cockroach People’s Party and a march towards Parliament, Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, launched a fierce attack on the central government regarding police actions.
Where Can We Voice Our Concerns?
While addressing the Parliament, Kharge expressed, "We intended to raise issues of injustice, oppression, and pressure occurring in the country and had requested time for this. However, as soon as I began to speak on the matter, my microphone was turned off. Is this what democracy looks like? If you do not wish to allow discussions in a democracy and refuse to listen to our voices, where are we supposed to express our concerns?"
Demand for Transparency
He further questioned the government, asking, "We also want to know what discussions took place with BJP President JP Nadda and what decisions were made in their internal meetings. It is crucial to inform the public of this truth. Therefore, we demanded a discussion in the House on this matter and an official statement from the Home Minister. Floor leaders should have been given the opportunity to speak on this issue."

BJP's Attempt to Undermine Democracy
Kharge expressed strong disapproval of the government's actions, stating, "The government is attempting to completely dismantle democracy. In my 60 years of political experience, I have never witnessed such an atmosphere. The country is heading towards chaos, yet Prime Minister Modi and the Home Minister do not wish to control it nor provide answers in Parliament. We strongly condemn this attitude of the government."
