Congress Leader Criticizes BJP for Neglecting Women's Welfare in Kangra

During a recent gathering at Trambla as part of the Aapka Sevak Aapke Dwar initiative, Chaudhary Narendra Nishu Mongra, the district president of APMC and a prominent OBC Congress figure, accused the BJP of failing to support women adequately. He emphasized that the Congress administration is actively delivering on its promises, with the Mera Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana set to disburse ₹1,500 to eligible women starting October 2.
Mongra also pointed out that this initiative includes insurance coverage of ₹10 lakh for underprivileged women. He noted the warm reception he received from the local women, who shared their concerns, some of which he addressed immediately while promising assistance for others.
Development Initiatives Announced
- ₹13 lakh allocated for the main Maherna–Trambla road
- ₹8 lakh approved for the Tind Basti–Trambla road
Mongra stated that construction on these roads will commence shortly, reiterating that addressing local challenges and fostering development are his primary objectives.
He further commented, “The BJP has repeatedly promised ₹1,500 to women, but that commitment has now disappeared. The reality is that the BJP has misled women without implementing any meaningful programs for them.”
The event witnessed significant participation from local women, who expressed their appreciation to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the anticipated financial aid.
