Congress Leader Calls for Fair Opportunity for TVK

On Friday, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury emphasized that, in line with the country's democratic traditions, the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) should be granted the opportunity to demonstrate its majority. He insisted that TVK deserves the first chance.

During a press conference, Chowdhury stated, “According to the rules, the governor should invite the largest party. That is my understanding. If the governor inquires about the number of seats before extending an invitation, it undermines the integrity of the governor's office. The party with the most seats, in this case, Vijay TV, should be the first to be invited. If they fail to prove their majority, that is a different matter, but they should be given the initial opportunity. This is a fundamental aspect of our democratic tradition, and I believe the governor should adhere to it.

Governor's Invitation Sparks Controversy

This statement came after Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar invited Vijay TV to the Lok Sabha on Thursday, clarifying that the necessary majority for forming a government in Tamil Nadu's assembly has not yet been established. Arlekar faced sharp criticism and accusations from government leaders for not inviting Vijay to form the government.

In response to the murder of Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant of West Bengal's opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, Chowdhury remarked that the truth will soon emerge. He highlighted that former Director General Rajesh Kumar, known for his expertise in resolving complex cases, had urged Bengal police to ensure his involvement in uncovering the truth behind the murder.

Commitment to Justice in Bengal

Chowdhury asserted that both of our legislators will determine the next steps themselves. However, it is our duty to fight against any form of wrongdoing, injustice, or corruption. Keeping the interests of the people of Bengal in mind, our legislators will continue their struggle. The recent incident in Bengal, involving the murder of a support staff member, must be resolved swiftly. We need to understand why it happened, the mysteries behind it, and the powers involved.

I suggest that, considering the active criminal gangs in Bengal, authorities should consult former DG/Commissioner Rajesh Kumar. He has extensive experience in uncovering such mysteries. Even though he is now a member of the Rajya Sabha, his expertise should be utilized in this investigation. He is a well-known officer for solving complex cases, and Bengal police should seek his advice to capture the perpetrator.
