Congress Demands Special Assembly Session for Restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's Statehood
Call for Urgent Assembly Session
The head of the Congress party's Jammu and Kashmir unit, Tariq Hamid Karra, has called for a special session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to address the delay in restoring the state's status and to formulate a unified strategy for its prompt reinstatement.
After arriving in Jammu from New Delhi via the Vande Bharat train, Karra spoke to reporters at the railway station, stating, “We have been on the streets for over six months, advocating for the restoration of statehood and mobilizing support across every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, gradually intensifying our efforts.”
Karra emphasized, “We are seeking a special assembly session to discuss the statehood issue.” He added that they have previously organized movements under the slogans 'Shri Nagar Chalo', 'Jammu Chalo', and 'Delhi Chalo', consistently informing the public through press conferences and urging all political, social, business, and other organizations to support their struggle.
