Congress Leader Welcomes By-Election Win
On Tuesday, Umang Singhhar, the leader of the opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, expressed his enthusiasm for the Congress party's victory in the Datia by-election. He criticized the BJP for failing to fulfill its promises over the past two decades. Congress candidate Ghanshyam Singh triumphed over BJP's Ashutosh Tiwari by a margin of 6,016 votes. Singhhar attributed this win to the lack of welfare for farmers and youth, as well as the ongoing atrocities against Dalits and Adivasis. He emphasized that the people of Madhya Pradesh are yearning for change.

Singhhar further stated that the current government has failed to deliver on its commitments made over the last 22 years. Farmers are still struggling to access fertilizers, and youth are facing unemployment. Similar situations have been observed in Bihar, and the citizens of both the country and the state are now demanding change. He also accused the BJP of tampering with electronic voting machines (EVMs).
Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav commented on the protests against the NEET-UG paper leak, stating that injustices against women and youth contributed to the BJP's defeat in the Bankipur by-election. Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, defeated Neeraj Kumar in Bankipur, a seat traditionally held by the BJP.

Yadav remarked that this is just the beginning. The residents of Datia and Bankipur have demonstrated their expectations and the extent of their opposition to the BJP. The by-election results were announced on Monday, revealing that the BJP lost two significant seats in Bankipur and Datia, while achieving a substantial victory in Gujarat's Majalpur, where BJP's Sateendra Bhai Patel defeated Congress candidate Bhikha Bhai Rabari by a margin of 30,630 votes.
