Congress Backs Armed Forces Amidst Missile Strikes on Terror Targets in Pakistan

Congress Stands United with Armed Forces
New Delhi: The Congress party expressed its unwavering support for the armed forces on Wednesday, coinciding with missile strikes executed by Indian forces targeting terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
Jairam Ramesh, the Congress general secretary responsible for communications, emphasized that India's resolve to eradicate terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK must be steadfast and rooted in national interests.
"This is a moment for unity and solidarity. Since the night of April 22, the Congress has consistently affirmed that we will fully support the government's actions in response to the Pahalgam terror attack," he stated.
Ramesh reiterated the party's commitment to the armed forces on social media, using the hashtag "Operation Sindoor."
In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian forces executed missile strikes early Wednesday, targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, including the stronghold of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Bahawalpur and the base of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.
These military operations were part of Operation Sindoor, initiated two weeks following the tragic killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The defence ministry confirmed in a statement at 1:44 AM that the Indian armed forces had launched 'Operation Sindoor' to strike at terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, from where attacks against India have been orchestrated.
The ministry noted that the military actions were "focused, measured, and non-escalatory," clarifying that no Pakistani military installations were targeted.
