Congress Criticizes Modi's Remarks

New Delhi: On Saturday, the Congress party accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of adopting a victim mentality after he stated he had forgiven the youth who insulted him. They demanded an apology from him for the 'brutality' faced by student protesters and the distress caused by examination paper leaks.

The opposition party criticized Modi's 'InstaGram sabhas', labeling them as an expression of 'extreme self-obsession' that fails to deceive anyone.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh expressed on X, "Late last night, in an act of supreme self-obsession, the prime minister claimed he forgave our youth. This is an affront to the nation and to our youth, who have endured hardships under his administration and rightfully seek an apology from him. The prime minister's Instagram gatherings are not fooling anyone."

In a video shared on Instagram late Friday, Modi expressed his sorrow over the 'filthy abuses' directed at him, even mentioning his late mother, and called for forgiveness towards the 'misguided children'. He acknowledged the societal anguish but emphasized the need to guide the youth positively.

Ramesh further remarked, "The self-proclaimed non-biological PM relishes playing the victim card."

He also accused Modi of using 'vile vitriol' against his predecessors and political rivals, stating, "He often spreads falsehoods to tarnish their reputations, not only in public speeches but also in Parliament. He unleashes a horde of abusive individuals both inside and outside Parliament, providing them with full protection."

Ramesh concluded by stating, "The entire nation is calling for the PM to apologize for the trauma inflicted on millions of youth due to his paper leak-ridden NTA and the violence sanctioned by his home ministry against student protesters. The public is also awaiting his apology for the 'Chanda Chori Astha Dhoka' involving the Ram Mandir Trust, which he grandly announced in the Lok Sabha on February 5, 2020. Furthermore, the nation still expects an apology for his disastrous demonetization on November 8, 2016, which devastated countless livelihoods and shuttered numerous MSMEs. The list goes on."
