Condemnation of Muslim Youth's Murder in South Karnataka by Student and Political Groups
Outrage Over Murder of Muslim Youth
The Sunni Students Federation of South India (SKSSF) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) have expressed their condemnation regarding the murder of a Muslim youth in the Bantwal taluk of South Kannada on May 27.
During a press conference, Anis Kausari, the state general secretary of SKSSF, stated that such violent incidents have instilled fear among the public and pose a threat to the livelihoods and safety of the working class.
Kausari emphasized that Abdul Rahman was neither involved in criminal activities nor affiliated with any political group. He was known for his secular values and lived harmoniously with people from all communities.
Additionally, he served as the secretary of the local neighborhood committee and was an active member of SKSSF. The organization has called for the immediate arrest of those responsible for spreading hatred through criminal acts and inflammatory speeches.
SKSSF has alleged that this murder is a direct consequence of hate speech propagated by communal elements. The SDPI has accused right-wing organizations of conspiring to murder Rahman and has strongly criticized the government's silence on the matter.
They claimed that such inaction from the government encourages these elements to resort to violence. Leaders from both organizations have demanded strict action against the right-wing forces responsible for this incident.
