BJP Leader Criticizes Bangladesh's Treatment of Minorities

In light of recent reports regarding attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressed serious concerns on Friday. He accused the Bangladeshi government of harboring an anti-Hindu mentality and targeting minority communities. Speaking to a news outlet, he stated that the entire Hindu population in Bangladesh is living in fear.

Hussain emphasized that the government in Bangladesh is exhibiting a clear anti-Hindu stance, with Hindus being specifically targeted. He referenced the brutal murder of a Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, who was beaten to death. The Hindu community is engulfed in fear, and such actions by Bangladesh are inexcusable. He warned that these actions could tarnish Bangladesh's own image.

According to a report from a local media outlet, a Hindu youth named Amrit Mandal was killed in the Kalimohar union of the Pangsha sub-district under allegations of extortion. This incident occurred shortly after the mob killing of Dipu Chandra Das in the Mymensingh district, where he was also beaten to death and his body was set ablaze.

Authorities responded promptly to the scene after receiving information, managing to rescue another individual in critical condition. The murder of Mandal followed the horrific incident involving Dipu Chandra Das, who was attacked by a mob on December 18 for allegedly making blasphemous remarks about Prophet Muhammad in a Facebook post.

As reported by the local media, Abdullah Al Mamun, the additional police superintendent of Mymensingh, stated that an official from the factory had informed the police that a group of workers had assaulted Dipu inside the factory premises.
