Sanjay Raut Expresses Worry About Dhankhar's Location
Last month, former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned citing health issues, prompting Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut to voice his concerns regarding Dhankhar's current whereabouts. On Monday, Raut sent a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting information about Dhankhar's location.
Details from Raut's Letter
In his correspondence to Amit Shah, Raut mentioned that there has been no information regarding Dhankhar's location since July 21. He claimed that several members of the Rajya Sabha attempted to reach out to him, but all efforts were unsuccessful. Raut emphasized that this situation is a "serious concern" as there has been no contact with the former Vice President or his staff.
Raut further noted that rumors are circulating in Delhi suggesting that Dhankhar has been confined to his residence and is "not safe." He expressed deep concern over these rumors and stated that the public deserves to know the truth. Raut also questioned the Home Minister, asking, "What has happened to our (former) Vice President? Where is he? How is his health? Is he safe?"
He added that if he does not receive a satisfactory response from the government, he may consider filing a writ petition in the Supreme Court regarding this matter.
The situation escalated further when Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal also raised questions about Dhankhar's whereabouts. He sarcastically remarked, 'I have heard of 'missing ladies,' but this is the first time I am hearing about a 'missing Vice President.' He too demanded clarification from the Home Minister on this issue.
