The F-15E's two-person crew managed to eject safely over Iranian territory. The pilot was rescued within seven hours, while the weapons systems officer faced a more challenging situation, spending two days concealed in the Zagros Mountains before being successfully retrieved, according to Pentagon sources.

China's Involvement May Extend Beyond the Missile

The NBC News report suggests that China's role might not be limited to the missile alone. One source, along with a separate US official, indicated that China could have also provided Iran with a long-range early-warning radar system capable of detecting stealth aircraft, potentially complicating the conflict further.
