As part of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) initiative linked to the Kangra Airport expansion, compensation has been allocated to families impacted in Sahoda Panchayat.
Ranjit Thakur, the Project Coordinator for R&R, announced that compensation notices labeled 'PAF – Land Only' have been issued to a total of 191 individuals whose land has been affected. Additionally, three shopkeepers and four families displaced by the project are also included in this compensation scheme.
A total of ₹19 crore has been approved for this R&R package, with plans to transfer the compensation directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries shortly.
Thakur emphasized that this process aims to ensure equitable rehabilitation for those affected by the expansion, while efforts are ongoing to identify and assist all impacted individuals.
