Sonam Raghuvanshi, the main suspect in the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, along with four other individuals, is currently in police custody. She appeared in a local court in Ghazipur on Monday. The shocking allegations against her have left her family and neighbors in disbelief, struggling to comprehend her alleged involvement in the crime.


Neighbors Express Their Disbelief

One neighbor, Sapna Solanki, shared her thoughts, stating that Sonam was always well-mannered and appeared joyful during her wedding. "We cannot believe she could do something like this," she remarked. Another local resident added, "Sonam, affectionately known as 'Bitti,' was friendly and kind to everyone. It’s hard to imagine her being involved in such an act."


Community Grieves Over Allegations

Another resident expressed sorrow over the situation, saying, "We are deeply saddened by these revelations. We never viewed her in this light." Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Police have secured a three-day transit remand for Sonam Raghuvanshi.


Details of the Case

Sonam is accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband, whose body was discovered on June 2 near the Weisawdong waterfalls. After disappearing on May 23, she was located in Ghazipur on Monday morning, 17 days later. The Ghazipur Police apprehended her, alleging that she hired assassins to carry out the murder.


Family's Defense

Sonam, originally from Indore, was found in a disheveled condition. Her father, Devi Singh, has denied the charges against her and is calling for a CBI investigation into the matter.
