Community Meeting Focuses on Welfare Initiatives and Cultural Heritage

Key Discussions on Welfare Schemes, Sanskrit Institutions, and Community Support

The Tehsil Brahmin Sabha Nurpur held a meeting at Bhagwan Parshuram Bhavan, located in Vinay Gali, Nurpur, presided over by Sabha President Shri Inder Pal Sharma.

During the gathering, members reviewed recent cleanliness initiatives and maintenance work carried out on the premises. The President provided updates from the Himachal Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Board meeting that took place in Shimla. Significant topics discussed included:

• Expanding the free uniform program to include children from the general category.


• Increasing the number of Sanskrit educational institutions within the state.


• Raising the annual income threshold for economically disadvantaged Brahmin families from ₹4 lakh to ₹8 lakh.

He informed the attendees that these issues were carefully considered by the Chief Minister, who promised to take action on the suggestions.

The Sabha also celebrated and congratulated Nurpur resident Dinesh Kumari Dogra for receiving international recognition in Athens for her contributions to Chamba Rumal. A formal resolution of good wishes was adopted in her honor.

On this occasion, members participated in shramdaan (voluntary labor) to help maintain the cleanliness of the premises and roof.
